A Blood Red Moon (15 June 2011)

Last night there was a lunar eclipse, which is said to be the longest of this decade. It started at about 20:23 and ended around 12:04.

The Moon turned a shade of brilliant red – and it was quite exquisite to watch!

Here are a few of my favourites (I am not putting the whole series, because I don’t yet know how to watermark and edit my images, but I hope these will suffice for the moment!)

I shot these pictures with my Canon 500D, using my 75 – 300mm lens. I dropped the shutter speed down to a low level to minimize shake. Tripod was absolutely vital!
